'Please pray for Nick': Mariah Carey reveals husband Cannon has kidney failure...as she bizarrely tweets bedside photo

By Emily Sheridan

TV presenter Nick Cannon has been rushed to hospital after suffering from kidney failure.

And despite wife Mariah Carey urging their fans to 'pray for Nick', the singer doesn't look too fearful about his health given her Twitter activity.

The mother-of-two, 41, bizarrely posted a photo of herself posing beside an ailing Nick, 31, in his hospital bed in Aspen, Colorado.

'My brave man': Mariah Carey feeds her husband Nick Cannon a drink after he is hospitalised with mild kidney failure

But the couple are clearly optimistic he will recover, with Mariah describing his kidney failure as 'mild'.

The Fantasy singer posted news of Nick's illness in the early hours of this morning.

She wrote: 'Please pray for Nick as he's fighting to recover from a mild kidney failure. #mybraveman.'

She then wrote a more detailed description of his medical drama on her official website.

'I'm not trying to make light of the situation': Mariah posted a statement on her official website about Nick's health

She wrote: 'This is us in the hospital - role reversal; Last year it was me attached to the machines (after having dembabies) and Nick was there with me through it, and now here we are.

'We're trying to be as festive as possible under the circumstances but please keep Nick in your thoughts because this is very painful. They tried to kick me out of the hospital but here I am pon de bed with Mr. C.

'We're doing OK but we're "straaaaaanded in Aspen". #DramaticDivaPlace (I know, we could be in a lot worse places) but the truth is as long as we're together, we're OK.

All white on the night: The couple, who have been married for three and a half years, in Aspen on New Year's Eve

'I'm not trying to make light out of the situation because it's a serious moment that's very tough on all of us so please keep us and our family in your prayers. LYM.'

The couple have been spending the Christmas and New Year period in Aspen with their twins Moroccan and Monroe.

Nick's hospitalisation perhaps explains why the couple haven't been photographed out and about in Aspen since New Year's Eve.

Bringing the '90s back! Mariah Carey recycles her perm and shows off her twins - and her babies - in her new Christmas video

By Georgina Littlejohn

Scroll down for the videos...

Going back to her roots- and lifting them up: Mariah Carey brings back her tight curl perm 18 years after she first sported

As a fresh-faced 24-year-old she topped the charts around the world with her anthemic song Hero sporting a tight curl perm.

Now, 18 years on, Mariah Carey has decided to turn back the clock and revisit her youth with a head full of ringlets, just like the do she sported all those years ago.

The singer released the video to her Christmas song this week and in it, she is seen decorating a Christmas tree and writhing round on a sofa with husband Nick Cannon while her tight curls flick all over the place.

The song, called When Christmas Comes, a duet with soul singer John Legend, premiered in the US last week and is what Mariah describes as a 'house party'.

Wearing a short tight red dress, Mariah joins Legend at his piano, before writhing around on that sofa again, flashing her impressive cleavage to the cameras.

Puppy love: Mariah reclines on a sofa singing, her curls falling around her, as husband Nick Cannon tempts her with a Jack Russell puppy

Careful! Mariah's ample cleavage is on display as she rolls around in her short tight red dress

The video is a family affair with Nick, 31, by her side and even her twins Morocco and Monroe get in on the action as they join their parents by the tree and in the kitchen.

The song was originally recorded for her 13th studio album Merry Christmas II You last year but was re-recorded as a duet with Legend for the Christmas charts this year.

Mummy lvoes you: Mariah snuggles in for a kiss with son Moroccan

Love you baby: Mariah and Nick share a smooch

Also in the video, Mariah is surrounded by friends and family as she and Legend sing away.

At one point, she ventures outside her home into the snow with some children and is joined by Snoopy, as clips from the cartoon series play.

I think you've got it! Mariah adds another bauble to her over-decorated tree

Excited: Mariah checks the presents under the tree as she waves to her family

Of course, Mariah's most famous Christmas song is her song All I Want For Christmas, which went to number one around the world in 1994.

It is still a huge hit 17 years on and is played everywhere during the Christmas holidays, which Mariah said 'amazed and humbled her.'

Talking to the Sun, Mariah, who has e-released the track in a collaboration with Justin Bieber, said: 'Who’d have thought, all those years ago when I wrote it, that it would still be having an impact today?'

Sneak peek: Mariah Carey introduces twins Monroe and Moroccan for the first time

By Jade Watkins

Double the joy: Mariah Carey and husband Nick Cannon are pictured with their twins Monroe and Moroccan during an interview with Barbara Walters

She has kept them away from the spotlight since their birth in April.

But Mariah Carey is about to debut her twins Monroe and Moroccan for the first time in a new interview with Barbara Walters for ABC's 20/20 this Friday night.

In a sneak peek, which doesn't show the babies' faces, the 41-year-old is seen cooing over her children after opening the doors of the New York City home she shares with husband Nick Cannon.

First look: The interview will air in the U.S. on ABC's 20/20 this Friday night

In the interview, the babies appear to already be emulating their parents style.

Little girl Monroe is seen wearing a white puffy dress, while Moroccan looks adorable in a suave camel-coloured blazer.

During their chat with Walters, the super star couple discuss all things parenthood, revealing that the twins already have been given the nicknames 'Roc and Roe.'

Hard-hitting Barbara also fires some pretty personal questions at Mariah during the sit-down.

When asked whether she trusts her husband of just three years, Mariah is seen cheekily answering: 'Sometimes!', while Nick jokingly protests to the side.

Since the couple's babies' arrival, fans have yet to see whether the youngsters look like the actor or their singer mother.

The only photo the couple have released was of Monroe with a hand covering her face.

Mariah tweeted the picture, with the comment: 'This is baby Monroe saying "no pictures dahhhhling" at 7+1/2 weeks..oh dear :)'

Mariah and Nick welcomed the twins on April 30.

Mariah recently admitted that pregnancy was tough on her, saying: 'My body went through so much - you have to keep those twins in as long as possible, but it's a sacrifice you make for them.'

Nick also recently said that his children's personalities were already showing through, with Monroe a lot like her famous mother.

Hard going: Mariah recently admitted that pregnancy was tough on her body, here she is seen around four months pregnant in December last year

'My daughter is a diva. My son is laid back. When he wakes up, he wakes up smiling. He'll wait for a minute and if he's hungry, he'll let you know.

'My daughter is just instant, she goes in and will not stop crying til you give her what she wants. It's like sleep and then screaming.

'My daughter is just on one all the time.'

Talk to the hand! Mariah Carey's daughter Monroe shows she is a diva... just like mummy

By MIKE LARKIN

Talk to the hand! Mariah Carey's daughter Monroe shows she is a diva

It seems Mariah Carey's daughter Monroe really is as big a diva as her father claimed.

The two-month-old was snapped making a no-pictures gesture by none other than Mimi herself.

Her cute daughter was in no mood to have her photograph taken, even by her multi-million selling music star mother.

Happy parents: Nick Cannon revealed he and wife Mariah Carey love being new parents

The Charm Bracelet star posted the pic on her Twitter account and wrote: 'This is baby Monroe saying 'no pictures dahhhhling' at 7+1/2 weeks. Oh dear.'

Last week her husband Nick Cannon revealed his daughter was already turning out just like her mother, who is one of the music world's biggest divas.

He said his daughter and her twin brother Moroccan are developing personalities just like their parents.

Nick, 30, said: ‘My son is laid back like me and my daughter's a diva like her mom.
‘When my daughter wants something, she'll let you know immediately.

‘With our son you kind of feed him when you get around to it, and he's okay with that.’

However the America's Got Talent host said Mariah, 42, has since overcome her some of her diva tendencies and is busy changing the children’s nappies.

Mariah Carey and husband Nick Cannon in clear after social services investigation into 'drinking' near the twins

By Jody Thompson

In the clear: Mariah Carey and husband Nick Cannon have had the Child Protective Services investigation into their care for their twins closed

The social services investigation into Mariah Carey and husband Nick Cannon following the birth of their twins has finally been closed after officials decided there was no case to answer.

The Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services concluded that there was 'no merit' to the case, which was sparked by an anonymous tip-off saying the Glitter star had been drinking near the babies.

Apparently, social workers interviewed Mariah, 41, today and spent time with the twins before deciding her babies Moroccan and Monroe were in a 'healthy and safe environment'.

Celebrity website TMZ says Mariah's lawyer, Laura Wasser, was present for the duration of the DCFS interview.

The investigation was triggered by a phone call to DCFS complaining that Mariah had drunk Guinness while breast feeding.

The star and her husband were allowed to take their twins home from Cedars Sinai Medical Center last week, but their delight had been marred by the investigation into wheter drugs and alcohols were used near the babies in hospital.

Cannon, 30, and Carey, who have been married for three years, have been under investigation after the television host said someone may have overheard a nurse suggesting to Mariah to 'drink Guinness... the yeast improves breast-feeding'.

The case has now officially been closed after they received a visit by a case worker at their home lasted approximately 30 minutes.

Excited: New dad Nick Cannon went to the KIIS FM Wango Tango event in Los Angeles last week after safely getting his wife and babies home

Moroccan Scott and Monroe were born on April 30, both weighing under 6lbs.

Cannon told CNN's Piers Morgan Tonight last Thursday that the incident began after a nurse told Mariah about a traditional method of improving the yeast in breast milk.

'It all started where a nurse suggested to my wife that if you drink Guinness or a small amount of Guinness, the dark beer, that the yeast improves breastfeeding', he said.

'Then they were saying that my wife was drinking beer and all that stuff. It’s like people would do anything to conjure up a story.'

He said once he spoke to the Child Protective Services explaining that the comment was clearly taken out of context, all was resolved.

'When I spoke to the person for the CPS they said this is ridiculous,' he said.
He said that the negative press surrounding the twins birth was disappointing.
'Man it is more than one incident. There have been photographers posing as many people in the hospital,' he said.

Television personality and comic Nick meanwhile has said he is 'freaked out about being a new dad'.

On his radio show last week, he said he was worried about them suffocating or him having to possibly give them CPR one day.

'This is the kind of stuff that is making me go crazy when you have two new babies', he shared. 'I cannot relax. I am OCD-ing. They don't tell you this part about being a new parent.'

Explanation: Cannon told CNN's Piers Morgan that the 'drinking' fracas began after a nurse told Mariah about stout improving the yeast in breast milk

Cannon also recently revealed that his wife is not expected to reduce her work schedule even though she is now a mother of two.

The diva actually recorded a new album while she was pregnant with 'Roc + Roe' and plans to release it in the next few months.

'She's planning on having a record out this year. She's been working away, and we have a studio in the crib, and the pregnancy has totally inspired her on so many different levels. You're definitely gonna see some new phenomenal music from Mariah', Cannon shared.

The unusual monikers of the children have sentimental value to the couple, who renewed their marriage vows on the same day the children were born.

The top tier of Mariah’s New York City apartment is called the Moroccan Room, because of the Moroccan-inspired decor, and it is the room where Nick proposed to his wife.

Scott is Nick’s middle name, as well as his grandmother’s maiden name. Their daughter was named after Hollywood icon Marilyn Monroe.

Nick Cannon sets the record straight after Mariah Carey is investigated by Child Protective Services for 'drinking and drugs'

By Daily Mail Reporter

Sad: Nick Cannon has spoken of his disappointment surrounding a tabloid scam involving his wife Mariah Carey on CNN's Piers Morgan Tonight last night

Nick Cannon has revealed his anger about false tabloid reports involving his wife Mariah Carey.

Child Protective Services were called following reports of 'drinking and drugs' going on in the couple's hospital room following the birth of the their twins Moroccan and Monroe on April 30.

Speaking out on CNN's Piers Morgan Tonight, the 30-year-old said the incident began after a nurse told Mariah about a traditional method of improving the yeast in breast milk.

'It all started where a nurse suggested to my wife that if you drink Guinness or a small amount of Guinness, the dark beer, that the yeast improves breastfeeding,' he said.

'Then they were saying that my wife was drinking beer and all that stuff. It’s like people would do anything to conjure up a story.'

'Man it is more than one incident. There have been photographers posing as many people in the hospital,' he said.

Explanation: The 30-year-old said that the fracas all began after a nurse told Mariah about a traditional method of improving the yeast in breast milk

'It is (frustrating), but you got to have to understand this is something you have to deal with. It is sad that people have to go to those lengths. '

One thing that will no doubt cheer Mariah up from the fracas is the lavish Mother's Day gift that Nick recently splurged on for his wife.

Days after their twins were born, Nick treated his wife to a four-carat diamond and sapphire necklace spelling out their namesakes from up-scale jeweller Jason of Beverly Hills.

'Nick was really excited about the babies’ names and wanted to do a piece with them for Mariah’s first Mother’s Day,' Jason Arasheben revealed to People magazine.

'Pink sapphires are bright and bold and diamonds are always so classic.'

The $12,000 necklace also features white and rose gold.

Happy: Mariah gave birth to the couple twins at the end of last month

'Nick came in and met with Jason on the Friday after his twins were born,' a source told People.

'He was bleary eyed, looking so tired but so happy — all smiles, saying he wanted to design something special for Mariah’s first Mother’s day.

'He couldn’t want to surprise her on Sunday.'

Mariah and Nick's twins Moroccan and Monroe were born on the 30th of April, the couple's wedding day.

Lavish gift: Days after twins Monroe and Moroccan were born, Nick treated his wife to a four-carat diamond and sapphire necklace from up-scale jeweller Jason of Beverly Hills

Mariah has long cited the Fifties actress as an inspiration and she even owns the late star's white piano.

They decided not give their daughter a middle name because Mariah herself does not have one.

Spokesperson Cindi Berger told CNN: 'It has been a long, emotional journey for this family, and I couldn’t be happier for all of them.'

Earlier this week, Mariah took to Twitter to stir up a guessing game about the names.

The proud pop diva hinted that both names begin with the letter 'M' and is urged her followers to submit their theories.

It is not known if any fans guessed correctly.

Doting dad: Nick was spotted various times following the birth visiting his wife

Details of the birth emerged quickly after the twins were born.

It transpired that Nick had flown into a blind panic while rushing his wife to hospital as she gave birth.

So much so, the America's Got Talent presenter got lost and drove to the wrong department before a nurse gave him directions.

Mariah was in a far calmer state, believing she was just having another false alarm.

Mariah's rep Berger confirmed the twins' arrival - a girl and a boy - saying the superstar delivered at 12:07 pm EDT at an undisclosed hospital in Los Angeles.

Berger said the baby girl was born first, weighing 5lbs 3oz and was 18 inches long; her brother was next, at 5lbs 6oz and was 19 inches.

Nick drove Carey to the hospital in their Rolls-Royce Phantom.

Berger said the couple were listening to Mariah's We Belong Together after the children were born.

Nick tweeted in the day: 'My wife just gave me the most incredible anniversary gift ever in life! I won't ever be able to top this!'

The couple got married in 2008 after a whirlwind romance.

Sweet tweet: Nick tweeted his excitement the day the twins were born

They were the subject of endless baby rumours, and the couple actually were expecting shortly after their marriage.

However Mariah had a miscarriage - they did not reveal the miscarriage until she announced her pregnancy last autumn.

The couple plan to live a bi-coastal life, and have luxurious nurseries in both New York and Los Angeles.

Now that's one big egg! Mariah Carey celebrates Easter by painting her huge baby bump

By Daily Mail Reporter

She is heavily pregnant with her twins and due to give birth any day now.

And as she eagerly awaits the arrival of her babies, Mariah Carey once again got festive with her baby bump by painting an Easter design on her huge belly.

Posting the picture on Twitter yesterday, the large drawing features an egg motif with clouds and a pink and blue heart symbolising the boy and girl she is expecting any day now.

Hinting that she is possibly exhausted with her pregnancy, the 42-year-old tweeted: 'HAPPY EASTER! Ummm.. READY!!!!!!!!!!!! Done and done,' along with the picture.

Slumped in a chair, the singer is seen sitting holding her bump while an unknown woman paints the design.

Mariah wore her hair in natural curls in the snap, and lounged in a black top and trousers .

Earlier in the day, she also retweeted a snap a fan had posted featuring an Easter Bunny toy and two eggs painted with the word's 'Dem Babies'.

The phrase was in reference to another image Mariah had posted almost a month ago.

She had previously painted a butterfly on her huge bump and daubed the words 'dem babies' on her stomach.

The large drawing had one pink wing and one blue, once again to symbolise the different sexes of her twins.

She had said that the body art was to celebrate her 41st birthday and her anniversary with husband Nick Cannon, 30, which is later this month.

Mariah tweeted: 'My attempt @ festiveness on 327! For ATLITL thank u + I LOVE U! Comin soon #dembabies! LYMA+thanx 4 making me happy:)'.

The Grammy-Award winning rececently said she is eager to begin her new role.

'Being a mother is probably the hardest job in the world. I feel like, in a lot of ways, children come into the world to teach us,' Mariah told America's Life&Style magazine.

'It’s going to be a delicate balance between raising them around glitz and glamour and keeping them grounded. One thing I’m sure of is that I’ll be grateful for the twins every day, no matter what.'

Butterfly belly: Previously Mariah painted a butterfly on her huge bump and daubed the words 'dem babies' on her stomach

She plans to juggle motherhood with her career and has already signed up for to be part of Simon Cowell's new show, X Factor.

After shooting down reports that Mariah was set to be one of the judges, due to the timing of her pregnancy, he admitted in a recent radio interview that the star would be involved with the show.

Simon said: 'I think Mariah will have a role on the TV live shows.'

He added: 'I met her recently and she was on great form. And her idea was to be the judge of the judges, which only Mariah could come up with. She'll be involved in some form. I literally adore her. I love her to bits.'

Carey has been married to actor and TV host Nick Cannon since 2008 and the pair will celebrate their third wedding anniversary on April 30.

They married at her private estate on Windermere Island in The Bahamas after a short time of dating.
