He will have become a huge fan of Mexico after pairing up with sexy senorita Selena Gomez.

So surely Justin Bieber should have gone the whole hog by wearing a sombrero as he went for a stroll in the Central American country yesterday.

Instead the teen idol wore an unseasonal woolly hat as he was spotted arriving in the swelteringly sunny country for a romantic break.


Whether Texan Selena, whose father Ricardo is Mexican, will have been impressed with her 17-year-old lover's unseasonal gear is unclear.

But he was certainly trying to stay cool in the heat by wearing a short sleeve blue plaid shirt and splatter patterned white shorts.

The latter showed off his famous new Jesus tattoo, which seemed to be healing up nicely.

Selena, 19, meanwhile looked far more glamorous in a revealing outfit of vest, denim hotpants and furry Ugg-style boots.

He was literally surrounded by girls eager for his attention as he soaked up some rays at the beach in Los Angeles, California on Thursday.

Justin was seen laughing and joking with the group of girls who appeared at ease around the singing sensation.

However while some of the bikini-clad girls appeared to be unimpressed by Bieber's superstar status Justin did encounter a large group of fans, who were overexcited by his presence.

The girls quickly swarmed around the Canadian and indulged in a photo session on the sands.

Of course always one to please his fans, Justin obliged hugging the group of girls and putting on the charm.While the teenager was more than happy to lap up the attention he has been spotted romancing his girlfriend Selena Gomez increasingly over the past few months.

The young couple have appeared stronger than ever after claims were made that Justin had fathered a baby with a female fan Mariah Yeater.

Justin denied the accusations and even submitted to a DNA test while Selena put a show of support during the ordeal.

It has become a national cultural symbol, and is often used in traditional Mexican celebrations.

Mexican musician Vincente Fernandez, boxer Juan Manuel Marquez and cartoon mouse Speedy Gonzales are all famous sombrero wearers.

LMFAO closed the ceremony with a medley of Party Rock Anthem and Sexy And I Know It and brought out Justin half way through their performance.

As the crowd screamed, Bieber bounced on to stage and shuffled dressed in a pair of LMFAO's trademark Zubaz pants.

At the end of the night Selena and Justin jumped back into their vintage Packard Super 8 and a tired looking Gomez rested her head on Justin's shoulder.

The Baby Baby singer gave his girlfriend his tuxedo jacket to wear as she started to feel the cold and the pair were chauffeur driven back to their hotel.

The overly affectionate display didn't appear to annoy Selena too much, as the pair enjoyed another cuddle onstage during the ceremony as Bieber accepted the award for Best Male video.

Selena's platinum selling song Who Says, off her new album, contains the lyrics 'Who says you're not star potential?' and the actress admits that she can relate to that having been told that on several occasions.

Yet the star has been threatened, on several occasions by hardcore Bieber fans.

Hinting he has been in a rather romantic mood of late, he wrote on Twitter that same day: 'What makes you so beautiful is that you don't know how beautiful you are... to me.'

Her outfit was a far cry from the more glitzy outfits she sported on the first night of her tour.

The 19-year-old singer donned a Vegas showgirl-style sequinned dress for the We Own the Night show, complete with sequinned corseted top and tasselled train.

She also wore some distinctly glamorous blue dresses, one of which featured a blue sequinned top.

But Selena's fans certainly looked happy enough as the singer strutted her stuff on the stage at the Mizner Park Ampitheater and belted out some of her most famous songs.

Justin watched from backstage with his friend, singer Sean Kingston, before darting out the back door before he could be spotted by the exuberant audience.
